Data methodology

How camera locations are documented

Flock Locations combines public information and community reports while making the source and verification status clear.

Our documentation standards

Source-aware records

Official agency deployments and public documents are recorded separately from community-submitted sightings whenever the available information supports that distinction.

Community reports stay labeled

A community report is not presented as official confirmation. Reports can be corroborated by additional submissions, photos, and other available details.

Corrections are welcome

Locations, camera types, and descriptive details can change. Visitors can report a new camera or submit updates when a record appears incomplete or inaccurate.

Geographic quality checks

Public directories exclude malformed geographic entries and locations outside the United States so state and city results remain useful.

What the map can and cannot show

The map is a public-interest reference, not an official inventory. Coverage can be incomplete, camera status can change, and a mapped point should not be treated as proof of current operation or agency ownership.
